ALEXIS BILLS, DAUGHTER OF KATRINA AND LONDELL BILLS

Body
ALEXIS BILLS, DAUGHTER OF KATRINA AND LONDELL BILLS, graduated as Salutatorian from the Hugo class of 2017. In may 2021, she graduated from the University of Oklahoma with distinction and a 3.79 GPA. She was a psychology Pre-Med major, and now has a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. Her dream is to become a pediatrician and she is currently taking steps to achieve that dream. Bills was granted the opportunity of participating in a Cancer Undergraduate Research Experience (CURE) at the University of Oklahoma Health Science Center. She is currently going through a gap year to gain more medical experience and ensure she is the best candidate for the medical school of her choice. During this gap year, she will take the MCAT (medical school admissions exam) and apply to medical school. “All of my achievements would not have been possible without God and my support system,” Bills said. “My journey to my dreams is far from over, but I know that every small step I take gets me closer to my goal. Nothing in life is easy, but when you are doing what makes you happy, it makes every tear and smile worthwhile. So, to my fellow Hugo High School alumni, current students and potential students, I want you to know that you can achieve whatever you set your mind to. Stay focused, aim for the stars and never give up on your dreams. Coming from a small town does not limit your horizons, but it broadens them. So, in your next journeys in life, do not run away from adversities but run toward them because success is created under pressure and failure is an opportunity to learn.
