When you totally disagree with the decision, but there isn’t much you can do to change what’s coming? I can hear the resounding “Oh Yeah!” from every reader. So, what do you do? Yell obscenities? Throw stuff at the TV? Fall to the floor in a full-fledged childish tantrum? Complain loudly and bitterly to any and every person within earshot? Could be.

It is not a good forecast at all for this area with showers and thunderstorms possible every day this week even into the weekend. Severe storms could be a threat from time to time as well as very heavy rainfall with flooding possibilities. High temperatures will be mostly in the midto-upper 70s and dropping into the mid-60s at night. Keep up with the weather each day since the threat of severe weather and flooding will be above normal.

Chamber of Commerce prepares for summer Homecoming

The Hugo Area Chamber of Commerce held its monthly board meeting on Thursday, May 13 at the Chamber office. The board approved the April minutes and financials. The bylaws, policies, procedures and strategic plan were updated and amended. The board set aside funds to promote tourism.

OSBI investigates disappearance of two Hugo residents

HUGO –– Monday, the Hugo Police Department requested assistance from the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI) with the suspicious disappearance of two Hugo, Okla., residents. Jared Lashan Lennox (34) and Krystal Jean Marie Terrell (31) were last seen together in Grant, Okla., on or about May 1, 2021. Lennox and Terrell were in a dating relationship.

Cluster of COVID variant identified in Oklahoma

OKLAHOMA CITY –– The Oklahoma State Department of Health announced today it has identified a cluster of 17 recent cases of the B.1.617.2 variant, commonly referred to as the India variant, in the state. Of those, 13 confirmed cases were associated with Cleveland County. To date, a total of 18 cases of the B.1.617.2 variant have been identified in the state.
