BOSWELL — The swearing-in of three new Boswell city councilors and the naming of a new Mayor have things hopping in Boswell’s city government. Sworn in at the Tuesday, April 16 meeting were Patricia Marshall, Ola Mae Moore and Mark Fuzzell.
HUGO — Choctaw County Sheriff Terry Park received a federal arrest warrant for Jefffrey Lyn Pierce, who was previously charged in Choctaw County District Court on Sept. 9, 2020, for murder in the first degree for the stabbing death of Ronnie Fitzpatrick Pierce in May, 2020.
HUGO — Choctaw County Sheriff Terry Park has advised that his office has entered into an agreement with the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma for the housing of tribal prisoners while their cases are being processed through an appropriate court.
The Hugo Board of Education met in regular session on April 12. Realignment of the board resulted in Shane Spillman continuing as President and Jeff White continuing as Vice President. Dwight Kos was elected by the board to serve as Clerk. Other board members include Dr. Mike Irvin and Susan Brewer.
