The rain on Saturday may have caused the Halloween Festival in Fort Towson to be cancelled but the Raymond Gary Lake Association of Fort Towson still held their third annual Pumpkin Decorating Contest for the Fort Towson School students on Saturday, Oct. 25! There was an incredible turnout — 50 pumpkins in total! The judges agreed that every single one deserved to win! The competition was so close that the judges decided to split the 8–12 age group into two separate categories just to make it fair. Even then, the decisions were extremely difficult! New law requires drivers to go hands-free

OKLAHOMA CITY –– Beginning Nov. 1, Oklahoma drivers will be prohibited from using handheld cell phones and other electronic communication devices in active school and work zones under House Bill 2263, authored by Rep. Nicole Miller, R-Edmond. The law strengthens Oklahoma’s existing distracted driving rules by limiting handheld phone usage in areas where extra attention behind the wheel is critical. Drivers may still use handsfree features to stay connected safely.
