Hugo Superintendent of Schools Brandy Blalock issued a public statement Friday saying the district had placed five employees of the Hugo School district on administrative leave following allegations of misconduct.

Animal Wellness Action and the Center for a Humane Economy applauded federal and local law enforcement in Southern Oklahoma for enforcing laws against illegal possession and transportation of fighting roosters for cockfighting. Attorney General Gentner Drummond is pushing back against California’s strict hog-housing regulations that would adversely impact Oklahoma’s pork producers.
