The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) is accepting applications for the USDA 1890 National Scholars Program, which aims to encourage students at 1890 land-grant universities to pursue career paths in food, agriculture, natural resource sciences, or related academic disciplines. The application deadline is March 1, 2025.

Lucile Morehouse, daughter of Nathan and Autumn Morehouse of Boswell, Okla., recently became a finalist for the 2024 Environmental Change Category with the Global Youth Awards hosted in London. The event celebrated youth from 84 countries around the world.

The longtime cast member of “Whose Line Is It Anyway?” and host of “The Wayne Brady Show” will perform at Stage 271 on Saturday, Aug. 2.

Candidates for two summer internship programs at the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation must apply in the next few weeks. Both programs are paid, eight-week biomedical research internships.

A new five-year National Institutes of Health grant will help an Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation scientist study muscle loss. With the $1,017,000 grant, Jordan Fuqua, Ph.D., hopes to better understand the normal muscle loss that occurs with aging and the accelerated atrophy that follows hospitalization or prolonged bedrest in older people.
