Local students complete training at Kiamichi Tech

Kiamichi Tech honored students who recently completed their career training with a graduation ceremony on May 16 at the Hugo campus. The ceremony included congratulatory remarks from Shelley Free, Kiamichi Tech Superintendent, a presentation of certificates and a special recognition of Kiamichi Tech Distinguished Graduates.

Over the next several weeks, 326,603 registered voters in Oklahoma, and around one thousand voters in Choctaw County will receive an Address Confirmation Notice from the State Election Board. The notices are required by state law.

Frisco Depot Museum acquires two new volunteers

Museum Director The Frisco Depot Museum in March welcomed two new volunteers, Michelina Barcheri and Susan Ware. Ms. Ware is cleaning and rearranging the military room and Miss Barcheri is taking care of visitors and cleaning the front area. Thank you both so much for volunteering. We need a volunteer for the Harvey House Restaurant, the two bedrooms upstairs, and the school room. For more information, call the depot.

Morehouse receives grant for ‘Bee Box’

Lucile Morehouse, 12, is an active 4-H member in Choctaw County, Okla. She is the current president for her local 4-H club, shows animals and participates in martial arts. She just received the Oklahoma 4-H Youth Development 2023 Enhancement Grant for her application called “Bee Box.”
