First Baby Rules The winning baby’s parents must be residents of Choctaw County! The parents of the newborn baby must come by the Hugo News and pick up a form that will specify the rules. They must present the Hugo News a copy of the birth certificate, the exact time of the baby’s birth specified by the attending physician and proof of residency (such as a utility bill or voter’s registration card).

The agreement brings four Choctaw Casino & Resorts properties, representing nearly 2,000 rooms, into the Wyndham portfolio. Led by Choctaw’s resort, Choctaw Casino & Resort–Grant, now part of the Wyndham Grand portfolio, three additional properties join Wyndham’s globally recognized Trademark Collection by Wyndham brand, with the Choctaw Nation retaining ownership and management of all four resorts.

First Baptist Church of Hugo will celebrate Byron Smith’s 30th Anniversary as Minister of Youth and Education on Sunday, Feb. 1, 2026. Touching hundreds of lives, Byron has served the youth of FBC and the Hugo community with the love of Christ since 1996. Byron received a Master of Divinity from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and a Bachelor in Business Administration & Management from Texas A&M University. Byron has two daughters: Lauren Harrison and Alexandra Huff, and four grandchildren: Olivia, Grayson, Hadley and Parker.
