HUGO –– The Hugo Area Chamber of Commerce welcomed Scooter’s to Hugo with an official ribbon cutting ceremony during its grand opening Friday morning. Scooter’s, which had a soft open Scooter’s, which had a soft opening just over a month ago, held a grand opening with half-priced drinks ahead of homecoming weekend festivities.

For any Voter who has not yet registered, Friday, June 3, is the last day to apply for voter registration in order to be eligible to vote in the June 28 Choctaw County Primary Election. OKLAHOMA CITY — Several members of the Hugo Gymnastics team competed in the AAU Oklahoma State meet in Oklahoma City on May 1. All of the participants were winners in respective events and will advance to regional competition in Springfield, Ill., on June 30-July 3.

A jury found Jeffrey Lyn Pierce guilty of murder in the second degree in Indian Country last week, after a sixday criminal jury trial. Pierce was arrested on suspicion of murder and was accused of killing his wife, 48-year-old Ronnie Ranea Fitzpatrick-Pierce, according to OSBI.

GRANT –– A preliminary hearing was held Tuesday for Rigoberto Aguilar, Jr., 43 of Grant, Okla., who was booked into Choctaw County Jail March 25, 2021 on complaints of assault with a dangerous weapon and possession of a firearm after former felony conviction.

The Oklahoma Medical Marijuana Authority (OMMA) will stop processing applications for new grower, dispensary and processor licenses for up to two years after Gov. Kevin Stitt signed House Bill 3208 on Thursday.
