TSET expands ‘Swap Up’ youth nutrition campaign

To help combat rising rates of childhood and adult obesity, the Oklahoma Tobacco Settlement Endowment Trust (TSET) launched a teen-focused nutrition education campaign, Swap Up, earlier this year. Starting May 10, two new Swap Up educational messages began encouraging teenagers to make healthier nutritional choices, along with free to order educational materials supporting the healthy behaviors youth can adopt.

• Sam Noble Scholarships assist undergraduate and graduate students studying agriculture as well as undergraduate students studying technology ARDMORE –– The Samuel Roberts Noble Foundation recently announced the 2021 recipients of the Sam Noble Scholarship, awarding a total of $107,500 in scholarships to 10 southern Oklahoma students. The local 2021 Sam Noble Scholarship recipients are: • Tucker Bundy, Idabel, Oklahoma State University.

The weather pattern for Choctaw County is not looking too good through the middle of the week, but sunshine and a warming trend get underway on Thursday. High temperatures will climb back into the low-80s by next weekend, but we could see a few scattered thunderstorms on Sunday and the severe weather season usually picks up quite a bit during the month of May so we will have to watch things closely as the warmer air comes back.
