We are going to have some active weather for the middle of the week for southeast Oklahoma, but I expect this to get back to sunny and warmer from Friday through the weekend, with high temperatures climbing from 75 to 80 degrees. The warm weather will continue through the first week of May with 80s on many days.

USDA investing more than $487 million in Oklahoma infrastructure

STILLWATER (KOKH) - The USDA has announced it is investing $487 million in critical infrastructure that will help communities in 45 states build back better and stronger. “When we invest in accessible and modern climate-smart infrastructure in rural communities, we invest in rebuilding the middle class by creating good-paying jobs,” said Deputy Under Secretary for Rural Development Justin Maxson.

Annual turkey hunt brings large crowd to Hugo Lake

HUGO –– The 33rd annual Lt. Governor’s Turkey Hunt was held last week at Hugo Lake, where dozens of potential business and development partners gathered to discuss the many opportunities to be found in southeast Oklahoma.

Choctaw Nation amends public health, safety code

The Choctaw Nation Tribal Council held a special session on April 20, 2021, and voted to amend its Public Health and Safety Code regarding medical marijuana. The amendment will be automatically repealed on Nov. 13, 2021, and other legislation will be adopted. The amendment passed by an 11-1 vote.

Antlers man expires at scene of crash

CHOCTAW COUNTY –– An Antlers, Okla., man expired at the scene of a two-vehicle collision last Wednesday on Hwy. 271, approximately five miles west and eight miles north of Hugo.

BOSWELL — The Boswell Scorpions came out with a balanced offense attack Monday, scoring two runs in each of the first three innings and added a big eight-run sixth to ice Clayton, 14-0. Kollin Edge did a masterful job on the mound for Boswell, striking out four batters and walking only two through 4.2 innings.
