On Monday evening, the Hugo Public School Board selected a new superintendent, as well as approving the recommendation of a new high school principal, for the 2022-23 school year. After 41 minutes in executive session, the board announced the hiring of Cory Smith as the next superintendent of Hugo Schools.

The following recreation areas at Hugo Lake are fully open for the 2022 recreation season: Kiamichi Park, Virgil Point, Wilson Point, Sawyer Bluff, Bridgeview, Overlook, Salt Creek, Frazier Creek, Rattan Landing and Mahaffey Point.
