HUGO –– Several items on the Hugo city council agenda saw no action last Tuesday, as the votes were evenly split with the absence of vice-mayor Darren Frazier. Items with “no action taken” included: • Two appointments to the Planning & Zoning board.

CHOCTAW COUNTY –– A Soper, Okla., woman has lost her life after a two-vehicle accident that occurred Sunday on US Hwy. 271, approximately seven miles south of Antlers, Okla.

STAFF After being arrested and charged with two felony counts of child abuse, Hugo Special Education teacher Yolanda Dunbar had her teaching certificate suspended by the Oklahoma State Board of Education meeting in Oklahoma City last week. Hugo and its independent school district are still reeling from being notified by Oklahoma City Attorney Cameron Spradling on Feb.

The Hugo Municipal Authority will hold a special meeting at 5 p.m. March 12 at the Choctaw Nation Community Center, 401 Chahta Circle.
