Funeral services for Betty Lue (Crews) Eagleberger, of Hugo, Okla., were held May 27, 2025 at Miller & Miller Funeral Home. Betty passed away May 23, 2025, at the age of 97. Betty Lue (Crews) Eagleberger was born on Dec. 25, 1927 in Hugo, Okla., the daughter of John Samuel Crews and Ruby (Morris) Crews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William “Bill” Eagleberger; sisters: Wanda Diviney and Jearl Dean Johnson and brothers: Don Crews and Willie Leon Crews.

Betty had lived in Michigan for many years before moving back to Hugo in 1991. She married her beloved husband, Bill Eagleberger on Nov. 13, 1948 in Angola, Ind., and she loved taking care of their home and children. Betty enjoyed the simple pleasures in life while collecting ceramic pigs, watching the delicate hummingbirds from her porch and the serene drift of ducks on the pond. She found as much joy in the flowers in her garden and her animals as she did in cheering on her favorite football team at the University of Michigan. Betty enjoyed reading and making Christmas Eve as big as her love for her family. She loved to go on vacation to the beach and her most treasured trip was renewing her vows with Bill on their 50th anniversary on Anna Maria Island in Florida. Betty will be remembered by those closest to her for her favorite saying, “Pretty is as pretty does.” Above all else, Betty loved her family immensely and they will carry her memory on in their hearts forever.

Betty is survived by her sons: Dennis Eagleberger and wife, Debbie of Hugo, David Eagleberger and wife, Mariko of Marysville, Wash., and Brent Eagleberger of Hugo; daughters: Brenda Robbins and husband, Dewayne of Barnhart, Mo., and Diane Eagleberger of Willis, Mich.; grandchildren: Laurie Castillo, Sara Werner, Jimmy Robbins, Yuki Eagleberger, William Eagleberger and Justin Patterson; 12 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren, along with a host of other family members, friends and loved ones.

Interment followed the service at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, under the direction of Miller & Miller Funeral Home.
