Funeral services for Gwendolyn Mae (Miller) Goodwin, of Sawyer, Okla., were held April 15, 2026 at Miller & Miller Funeral Home. Gwendolyn passed away April 11, 2026, at the age of 77.

Gwendolyn Mae (Miller) Goodwin was born on April 13, 1948 in Dumas, Texas, to J.R. Miller and Wanda (Evans) Miller. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Robert Elden Goodwin; brothers: Roy Junior Miller, Jimmy Miller and sister, Betty Ruth Hansche-Brown.

Gwen had lived in the Sawyer area since 1978. She graduated from Panola High School, Class of 1968 and went on to receive a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Central Oklahoma. Gwen married the love of her life, Bob Goodwin, on May 30, 1970 in Wilburton, Okla. She was a dedicated teacher at Fort Towson Schools for 15 years, where she touched many young lives through her work. Together with her husband, Bob, they later owned and operated Harbor’s Store in Sawyer for many years.

Beyond her professional career, Gwen was an excellent seamstress. She enjoyed making clothes for her children when they were growing up and she was also a very good cook; baking being her specialty. Gwen had a special spicy and witty personality and enjoyed spending time with her loved ones. She loved the Lord and sharing the gospel with her friends and family. Above all else, Gwen loved her family fiercely. Gwen is survived by husband, Bob Goodwin of the home; daughters: Sandy Lindamood and husband and Theresa Goodwin; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brothers: Pete Miller and wife, David Miller and wife and Don Miller and wife; sister, Wanda Winters and husband, along with numerous nieces, nephews, other family members, friends and loved ones.

Interment followed the service at Fort Towson Cemetery with Bro. Otis Knight officiating, under the direction of Miller & Miller Funeral Home.
