Funeral services for Jimmy “Jim” Wayne Nesbit, of Hugo, Okla., will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 3, 2025 at 4th and Jackson Church of Christ in Hugo. Jimmy passed away April 27, 2025, at the age of 71. Jimmy Wayne Nesbit was born on June 30, 1953 in Hugo, Okla., the son of Rupert Leroy “Perk” Nesbit and Carmen (Purtell) Nesbit. He was preceded in death by his parents. Jim was a lifelong resident of Hugo, Okla., and a graduate of Hugo High School, Class of 1971. He married his beloved wife, Deanna Squires on Nov. 26, 1976 in Durant, Okla.

Jim was an outstanding athlete and participated in football, baseball, tennis and golf. Jim was also an avid sports fan and he especially loved watching OU Softball. He was a man of integrity, honest and dependable. Jim deeply loved his family, but above all else he loved the Lord.

Jim’s passing has left a void in the lives of his family, and he will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Jim is survived by his wife of 48 years, Deanna Nesbit; son, Michael Nesbit and wife, Jennifer of Powderly, Texas; daughter, Michelle Gibson and husband, Dan of Hugo; grandchildren: Lukas Wayne Nesbit, Jehma Alise Nesbit, Carson Alexander Thomas Nesbit, Carmen Adelynn Nesbit, Adriana Eloise Nesbit, Emory Ruth Gibson and Darcy Jewel Gibson; sister, Linda Copeland and husband, Wiley of Hugo; sister-in-law, Deborah Albrand, along with a host of family, friends and loved ones.

Interment will follow the service at Mt. Olivet Cemetery with Steve Harbison officiating, under the direction of Miller & Miller Funeral Home.
