Funeral services for Lavern “Bunch” Jackson, of Grant, Okla., will be held at 2 p.m.

Nov. 30, 2024 at Westside Church of Christ in Hugo.

Lavern passed away Nov. 20, 2024, at the age of 82.

Lavern “Bunch” Jackson was born on Jan. 1, 1942 in Hugo, Okla., the daughter of Frank Brewer and Estella (McGee) Brewer.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers: Marshall Brewer and Floyd Brewer and sister, Essie Brewer.

Bunch was a longtime resident of the Grant and Hugo communities. She led a rewarding career in nursing and worked at Grant School for more than 20 years. Bunch was a member of the Church of Christ and loved going to worship the Lord. She loved to go fishing, especially at Raymond Gary Lake, and enjoyed cooking, quilting and relaxing with a good puzzle book. In her younger years she was a talented bowler and received several trophies. Above all else, Bunch cherished her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Those who knew her will miss her dearly.

Bunch is survived by her daughters: Petrice Crittendon of Hugo and Necole Stature of Grand Rapids, Mich.; God daughter, Ruthie Pearl of Hugo; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; brothers: Odis F. Brewer and wife, David Brewer and Thomas E. Brewer, along with many other family members and friends.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 29, 2024 at Miller & Miller Funeral Home in Hugo.

Interment will follow the service at Gay Cemetery in Gay, Okla., with Bro. Odis Knight officiating, under the direction of Miller & Miller Funeral Home.
