Funeral services for Lenora “Boogie” Evangline (Tom) Jackson, of Hugo, Okla., will be at 2 p.m. Oct. 18, 2024 at Miller & Miller Funeral Home Chapel. Lenora passed away Oct. 13, 2024, at the age of 68.

Lenora “Boogie” Evangline (Tom) Jackson was born on January 14, 1956 in Talihina, Okla., the daughter of Leonard Wayne Tom and Mary Francis (Billey) Tom. She was preceded in death by her parents; second mom, Pauline Tom; brother, Preston Lawrence and sisters: Billie Strickland, Sharon Davis and Barbara McKee.

Lenora was a lifelong resident of the Soper and Hugo communities. She graduated from Soper High School and went on to have a very rewarding career at Kiamichi Opportunities working with those with special needs. Lenora was a member of the Soper Assembly of God Church and was a proud member of the Choctaw Nation. She was momma to many and enjoyed taking care of people. Lenora was quite the jokester and enjoyed making her family smile and laugh. She loved going to church, listening to gospel music and going to yard sales and thrift shops. Lenora also enjoyed gardening and working in her flower beds and tending to her elephant ears and roses. One of her favorite things to do was traveling and she looked forward to her yearly trips to Branson with her sisters. Most of all Lenora loved her family and being with them. She will be greatly missed, and her family will keep her memory alive in their hearts.

Lenora is survived by her loving family; daughter, Christy Chambless and husband of Hugo; son, Eddie Justice and wife of Hugo; two grandchildren; brothers: Raymond Tom and wife of Hugo, Michael Dean Tom and wife of Seminole, Okla., Larry Tom and wife of Boswell, Okla., and Wayland Tom and wife of Piggott, Ark.; sister, Linda Taylor of Soper; her best friends, numerous adopted kids, nieces, nephews, cousins, other family, friends, loved ones and her cherished fur baby.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 17, 2024 at Miller & Miller Funeral Home in Hugo.

Interment will follow the service at Soper Cemetery with Pastor Michael Tom and Dr. Wayland Tom officiating, under the direction of Miller & Miller Funeral Home.
