Funeral services for Lois Faye Ruffin, of Idabel, Okla., were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 10, 2025 at Green Chapel Assembly of God of Wright City. Lois passed away May 7, 2025, at the age of 79.

Lois Faye Ruffin was born on Jan. 12, 1946 in Wright City, the daughter of Floyd Dean and Stella Mae (Roberts) Hanley. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Troy James Ruffin; daughter, Alisha Ruffin; a grandson; brother, Clarence Hanley and sisters: Jean Gordon and Margie Black.

Lois married Troy James Ruffin on Jan. 25, 1969 in Paris, Texas, and they made their home in Wright City. She was a beautician and loved changing the color of her hair often. Lois was a gifted cook, enjoyed baking and making candy, especially during the holidays. She was also a talented seamstress, making and giving away many of her handmade quilts. Lois could often be found with a camera in her hand, taking pictures of everyone and had many photo albums. She was the person to call to be updated on family matters. Lois made certain to keep in touch with loved ones and friends often. Above all, she was a godly woman, standing by her husband’s side for 47 years in his ministry. Her role as a minister’s wife was one she embraced with grace and selfless love and she was willing to help anyone in need. Lois is survived by her son, Keith Engel of Tulsa, Okla.; daughter, Kim Engel of Tulsa; three grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; sisters: Pat Sanford of Wright City and Doris Gist of Oklahoma City, along with a host of other family, friends and loved ones.

Interment followed the service at Slater Cemetery, under the direction of Miller & Miller Funeral Home.
