Marguerite Verita Roden

Memorial services for Marguerite Verita Roden, of Donaldson, Ark., were held June 17, 2025 at Mt. Olivet in Hugo. Marguerite passed away June 12, 2025, at the age of 75.

Marguerite Verita Roden was born on Dec. 2, 1949 in Idabel, Okla., the daughter of Sherman Jackson and Ester F. (Hawkins) Jackson. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Donald Jackson; a sister-in-law; sister, Ruth Rose and a niece.

Verita grew up in Grant, Okla., and graduated from Grant High School, Class of 1968. She lived in Oklahoma, Nevada, Texas and Arkansas throughout her life and worked as a property manager for many years. Verita married her beloved husband, Lonnie Roden, on June 21, 1968 in Grant. She enjoyed knitting and tending to her goats. Verita was of the Missionary Baptist faith and loved her family and spending time with them. She will be deeply missed, but her memory will live on in the hearts of her loved ones forever. Verita is survived by her loving husband, Lonnie Doyle Roden; sons: Anthony Roden and wife of Deville, La., and Stephen Roden of Donaldson, Ark.; daughter, Teresa Cohen and husband of Malvern, Ark.; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sister, Novella Trantham and husband of Hugo, along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members.

Bro. Luther Roden officiated the service, under the direction of Miller & Miller Funeral Home.
