Funeral services for Roberta Ann (Melton) Ohlerking, of Garvin, Okla., were held Thursday, Oct. 23, 2025 at Valliant Church of God. Roberta Ann Ohlerking, 84, went to her heavenly home on Oct. 20, 2025, passing on from this life in Paris, Texas, surrounded by her loving family. Roberta was born on Sept.14, 1941, in Garvin, Okla., the daughter of Dolphus Linten Melton and Oma Alice (Kennedy) Melton. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Boyd Melton; and two brothers-in-law.

Roberta grew up in Garvin until around the age of 14, then she moved to Arizona and that is where she met her beloved husband, Donald Ray Ohlerking. They were married on Dec. 22, 1958, at the courthouse in Phoenix, Ariz. Later, they moved back to McCurtain County in 1971 and have resided in Garvin for more than 50 years.

Roberta dedicated many years to serving her community through her work at Walmart and for Valliant Public Schools in the cafeteria. She was also a member of The Church of God in Valliant, where her dedication to her faith was evident to all who knew her. Roberta was a pillar of her church community, actively participating in Sunday school lessons and sharing her musical talents by playing the piano during services and events. Above all else, Roberta loved her family beyond measures. Her faith and her family were the cornerstones of her life.

Roberta is survived by her loving family; her husband, Donald Ohlerking; daughter, Donna Grammer and husband; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sisters: Alene Lewis, Viola Curtis, Kathy Cantrell and husband, and Rosa Nell McCoy; brother, Paul Melton and wife; and a host of other family, friends and loved ones.

Interment followed the service at Wheelock Cemetery, under the direction of Miller & Miller Funeral Home.
