Roy Gene Crippin
Roy Gene Crippin, of Rattan, Okla., passed away Nov. 17, 2025, at the age of 77. Roy Gene Crippin was born on July 22, 1948 in Soper, Okla., to Edmon Dell Crippin and Virgie Jo (Lewellen) Crippin. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Garry Dell Crippin and Dallas Ray Crippin. Roy had lived in Choctaw and Pushmataha County most of his life. After graduating from Soper High School in 1966, Roy proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1968 to 1970, spending most of his military career in Germany. He carried the discipline and patriotism from his military service throughout his life and was an active member of the American Legion and NRA.
Roy spent many years as a truck driver and enjoyed traveling and seeing new places. He had a passion for listening to country music and singing the songs that spoke to his heart. Roy was also an avid outdoorsman, enjoyed being in nature and loved to hunt and fish. Above all else, Roy’s family was the most important to him. Roy was a devoted family man.
Roy is survived by his wife, Sandra Crippin; children: Larry Joe Burris, Lois Jean Burris, Tresa Kay Gilmore and husband, Melissa Kay Myers and husband, Montie Jo Motes and husband and Sheila Gail Herman; 19 grandchildren; 49 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; brother, Larry Joe Crippin; sister, Beverly Randell and husband; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins along with a host of other family, friends and loved ones.
