Graveside services for Virginia “Ginger” Dudley-Hampton, of Hugo, Okla., were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 17, 2022 at Soper Cemetery.

Virginia “Ginger” Dudley-Hampton, 85, beloved mother and grandmother, went to her Heavenly home on May 13, 2022.

Ginger was born on Feb. 19, 1937 in El Paso, Texas, to John Raymond Hatch and Mari Nell (Link) Hatch. She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Norman Dudley; brother, Jay Hatch; son, Scott Dudley; daughter, Dianne Dudley-Waugh; a granddaughter; a grandson, and second husband, Wade Hampton.

Ginger was a proud graduate of SOSU, obtaining her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology. Her highlight of graduating was getting a letter from President Reagan and being the oldest member of her graduating class. Ginger had been a member of the Hugo community for more than 40 years and enjoyed being involved in the community. She had a gift for helping people and after her daughter passed away, she used that gift to help others by starting her own bereavement organization. Ginger helped many families through the grieving process after losing a loved one. She combined her love for helping people with her other passion, animals. Ginger started her very own dog grooming business called Ginger’s Grooming Service, which she ran out of her home for many years. She loved being able to help animals and their owners. Ginger loved playing dominoes and was a member of the Mex-Train Group in Hugo and enjoyed going any chance she could. However, her greatest joy in life was her family. Spending time with them was the highlight of her life. Ginger will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Ginger is survived by her daughters: Vicki Dudley-Tripp and Karen Dudley-Goodwin; seven grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; brother, Richard Hatch; along with a host of other friends, family and loved ones.

Chad Moffit officiated the service, under the direction of Miller & Miller Funeral Home.
