Funeral services for Vivian Louise Gibson, of Hugo, Okla., will be held at 2 p.m. Feb. 21, 2025 at Miller & Miller Funeral Home Chapel. Vivian passed away Feb. 13, 2025, at the age of 94.

Vivian Louise Gibson was born on March 20, 1930 in Skellytown, Texas, the daughter of William Robert Stone and Leona Alberta (Cowan) Stone. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ruben Alvin Gibson; brothers: Joe Stone, David Stone, Bobby Gene Stone and Early Frank Stone and sisters: Elizabeth Stone Tims, Mable Stevens, Alice Davis, Edna Cawley and Rosa Lee Morris.

Vivian was a resident of Hugo and was a substitute teacher at Fort Towson Schools for 22 years. She was also a homemaker and loved taking care of her home and children. Vivian married her beloved husband, Ruben Alvin Gibson, on Sept. 18, 1951. She read her Bible daily and was a great seamstress.

Vivian enjoyed visiting while playing cards, dominos and horseshoes with her family and friends and she loved cooking and going to thrift stores. Most importantly, Vivian loved her family and spending time with her kids and grandkids. While they will miss her deeply, her memory will live on in their hearts. Vivian is survived by her daughters: Peggy June Kemp and husband of Hugo, Deborah Ann Horn and husband of Eucha, Okla., and Sherri Rene Cordova and husband of Sachse, Texas; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, step- grandchildren, great step-grandchildren, along with other family members and friends.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 21, 2025 at Miller & Miller Funeral Home in Hugo.

Interment will follow the service at Fort Towson Cemetery with Bro. Scott Stuart officiating. Chad Williams and Toby Williams will assist, under the direction of Miller & Miller Funeral Home.
