Yvonne Pauline (Holland) Moore–Lockamy

Funeral services for Yvonne Pauline (Holland) Moore – Lockamy, of Valliant, Okla., were held Friday, Sept. 25, 2026 at Miller & Miller Funeral Home.

Yvonne Pauline (Holland) Moore – Lockamy, 88 years old, was born in Onslow County, N.C., on July 5, 1938 and departed this world on Sept. 21, 2026 to be with her Lord and Savior.

Yvonne was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Eloise Holland; her husband, Gene Moore, and sister, Mycleta Slade. She was the second child of 11 born to Rob and Eloise.

Born and raised in Onslow County, Yvonne worked on the farm and graduated with Richlands High School, class of 1956. She married and eventually moved with her family to settle in Oklahoma where she worked several years before retiring from Weyerhaeuser. In her later years, she moved back to the old homestead area, living in Deppe, N.C., near her family and was a member of Grants Creek Baptist Church of which she dearly loved singing in the choir.

In her later years, she returned to Oklahoma to be with her children.

Yvonne enjoyed spending time with family, growing plants, gardening, singing, going to church and her farm animals.

Yvonne leaves to cherish her memory, three sons: Donnie Moore of Challis, Idaho, Michael Moore of Garland, Texas, Mark Moore of Valliant; seven grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; one great-greatgrandson; sisters: Julia Smith of Morehead City, N.C., Lois Simpson of Maysville, N.C., Martha Jenkins of Mocksville, N.C., Mary Home of Swansboro, N.C., Wanda Castillo of Jacksonville, N.C.; brothers: Robert Holland of Kinston, N.C., Benjamin Holland, Jack Holland and David Holland of Maysville, N.C.; along with several nieces and nephews, great and great-great-nieces and nephews.

Interment followed the service at Wheelock Cemetery with Bro. Brent Coffey officiating, under the direction of Miller & Miller Funeral Home.
