Curtis Ray Kernell, longtime resident of Hugo, passed away after a surprisingly quick battle with cancer on Sunday, Nov. 28, 2021 at Peachtree Hospice in Fort Smith, Ark., at the age of 82.

Pamela Jean Corbitt Stapleton, of Hugo Okla., was welcomed into Heaven on Nov. 28, 2021. Pam was born on June 30, 1946 in Whitewright, Texas, to JD and Lois Corbitt. She married Mike Stapleton on March 19, 1965, in Hugo, and was blessed with 53 years of marriage.

Jessie Newal Hamill Fondy was born on June 8, 1943, in Hugo, Okla., to Jess Newton and Modell (Kizer) Hamill. She was preceded in death by her parents. She went to her final resting place on Sunday, Nov. 14, 2021, in Paris, Texas, at the age of 78.

Mary Donna Luna came into this world May 18, 1946, born on the Luna family homeplace near Swink, Okla., to Millard(Bigun) Luna and Okemah Henthorne Luna. She married Dewey Ray Coffey, blending their families, on May 1, 1979. Donna departed this life Nov. 13, 2021 in Dallas, Texas. She was preceded in death by Dewey; her parents and her brother, Glen Luna.
