OKLAHOMA CITY – House Republicans introduced a slate of inflation relief bills in special session Monday, reiterating their support for helping Oklahomans overcome the rising cost of goods and services.

I don’t think I have ever seen traffic in Hugo heavier than it was Friday before the Rodeo Parade and the Friday evening Rodeo performance. Cars were basically stacked along Jackson Street to all edges of town.

OKLAHOMA CITY – Gross Receipts to the Treasury in May reflect the dampening effect of inflation on the Oklahoma economy, State Treasurer Randy McDaniel has announced. May gross receipts of $1.3 billion are up 5% from a year ago, the slowest rate of growth in 10 months.

OKLAHOMA CITY – The House of Representatives adjourned Sine Die on Friday following a successful session in which Republicans enacted historic, pro-growth investments for the future of Oklahoma. “This year’s investments in Oklahoma’s future expand our economy and protect our budget like never before,” said House Speaker Charles McCall, R-Atoka.

We’ve officially adjourned the 2022 legislative session by our constitutionally mandated deadline of 5 p.m. on the last Friday of May. It was a productive session, and we passed the largest budget in our state’s history thanks to record revenues.

The Biden Administration is attempting to hand over total control of the American health-care system and the United States’ national sovereignty to the World Health Organization (WHO). If these proposed amendments are approved, the WHO will have total power to declare an international health-care emergency, nullifying the powers of our nation, states and our people. It is unbelievable that Biden is attempting to cede our health-care sovereignty to the WHO. Unfortunately, it is true.

The Iris Garden Club of Hugo met on April 25 at Burnside Community meeting room. President Harolynn Wofford called the meeting to order. She welcomed everyone then called on Rick Lowrance to open with prayer. Everyone recited the gardener’s creed.
