Body LANDON LEMMONS has seen a lot of action on the mound for the Hugo Buffalo baseball team this spring. The sophomore righty struck out eight batters in five innings against the Antlers Bearcats in recent action.

Body IDABEL — The Hugo Buffaloes turned up the heat a notch on both offense and defense, booking two road-wins over Idabel and Fort Towson. The Buffaloes blanked the error-prone Warriors 12-0, giving up only two hits during the contest and plating nine unearned runs.

Red Bears bounce Lady Buffs/Lady Scorpions

Body Soper’s Lady Red Bears walloped the Hugo Lady Buffaloes 13 to 3 in a three-way round-robin in Boswell last week. The Lady Buffaloes started out strong when Eden Grace smashed a ball to the left field fence to put Hugo up 1-0.

Boswell spanks Tupelo, 14-8

Body Tristan Pettyjohn drew the start for the Tigers and offered 32 pitches in the first inning. Austin McKnight relieved Pettyjohn in the second and threw three innings with 53 pitches, giving up four runs on seven hits.

Two late runs puts Buffs over Antlers, 11-10

Body HUGO — After a slow start, the Hugo Buffaloes put nine points on the board and thought they had a comfortable lead over the visiting Antlers Bearcats until the Cats brought out the bats in the top of the sixth.

Parish throws one-hitter against Tushka

Body Hugo Buffalo hurler Aden Parish had his stuff working Thursday, as he threw a one-hit shutout against the Tushka Tigers in the Atoka Tournament. With 86 pitches across the plate, Parish fanned six and walked only one batter while his teammates took care of business at the plate.

Fort Towson slams Achille, 20-12

Body Fort Towson’s Austin Mcknight had a big day at the plate for the Tigers last week, leading his team to a massive 20-12 win over Achille. Mcknight drove in runs on a single in the second, a single in the third and another blast in the fourth.

Boswell spanks Tupelo, 14-8

Body BOSWELL — Boswell’s C.J. Jeffries doubled on a 2-0 count in the fifth inning Saturday, driving in two go-ahead runs and the Scorpions never looked back enroute to a big 14-8 win over Tupelo.

Buffaloes scrape past Hartshorne, 7-6

Body In a closely-contested baseball game that saw the lead change hands several times, the Hugo Buffaloes brought out the bats at just the right times in their recent battle against Hartshorn to stroke both hits and home runs to claim the victory, 7-6.
