Rattan claims State baseball title!

Riding a wave of dominant wins in the last half of their spring baseball season, the Rattan Rams went into the 2026 State Tournament as the No. 1 seed. The Rams lived up to their billing by posting commanding wins over Union City, (112) and Waukomis, (10-0) before manhandling the Canute Trojans 5-1 in the finals for the State Championship.

BEGGS — The Hugo Buffalo baseball team battled gallantly last week at the Regional Tournament hosted at Beggs. The Buffaloes lost in their opening game to the host team, 11-1 even though they managed six hits in the game.

HUGO — The Hugo Buffaloes were unable to string enough hits together Monday afternoon at Shull-Bywaters Park to challenge the visiting Kingston Redskins. Kingston plated 13 runs on 11 hits while making no errors in the field.

HUGO — The Hugo Lady Buffaloes hosted the Wright City Lady Jax Monday and were not able to contain the powerhitting team. Wright City plated 13 runs on 13 hits, while the Lady Buffaloes got two runs across the plate on five hits.
