Farmers, ranchers now can make USDA farm loan payments online

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) announced that most farm loan borrowers will be able to make payments to their direct loans online through the Pay My Loan feature on farmers.gov in early February. Pay My Loan is part of a broader effort by USDA’s Farm Service Agency (FSA) to streamline its processes, especially for producers who may have limited time during the planting or harvest seasons to visit a local FSA office; modernize and improve customer service; provide additional customer self-service tools; and expand credit access to assist more producers.

Sample ballots are now available for the March 5, Presidential Preferential Primary Election to be held in Choctaw County. Voters can download a sample ballot using the State Election Board’s OK Voter Portal at oklahoma. gov/elections/ovp or pick up a copy at the Choctaw County Election Board during normal business hours.

Choctaw County Republicans will hold its 2024 Precinct Meetings & County Convention from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 24, 2024 at the Sawyer Community Center. Please note, registration opens at 9:30 a.m. and closes at 10:15. No one will be admitted after 10:15 a.m. A voter card or a state issued photo ID is required, voter’s name must be listed on the register, and registration date must be before Jan. 24, 2024. Delegates will be elected to the Republican State Convention on May 3-4, 2024, in OKC. Exact location TBA.

UCO announces local Honor Roll students

The University of Central Oklahoma recently announced the students named to the university’s honor rolls, a distinction given to those who achieve the highest academic standards. For the fall 2023 semester, 1,666 students were named to the President’s Honor Roll, an honor achieved by those who recorded a “straight-A” or 4.0 GPA.

Senior Day at the Capitol to be March 11

Oklahoma senior citizens, caregivers, and those interested in matters affecting aging Oklahomans are invited to the State Capitol for Senior Day on Monday, March 11. Attendees will have the opportunity to share ideas, needs and concerns with their state lawmakers, visit with organizations and state agencies to learn about services for older Oklahomans, and learn about current legislation that may affect older Oklahomans.
