After temperatures hitting 110 degrees early in the week, about the only cooling trend we are going to see is 101 degrees by Thursday but 104 this weekend. Lots of sunshine ahead and the only chance of rain looks to be if one of those isolated nocturnal thunderstorms pops up some night late in the week. I would not be surprised if we hit 100 every afternoon for the remainder of July.

Kansas beats Oklahoma in landing billion-dollar battery industry

TOPEKA — Kansas Governor Laura Kelly has announced that Panasonic Energy Co., Ltd., plans to build a state-of-the-art electric vehicle (EV) battery facility in the Kansas City Region. The largest economic development project in state history, the Kansas Department of Commerce, the Kansas City Area Development Council (KCADC) and its partners, shared that the company’s plans could create up to 4,000 new jobs and result in an investment of approximately $4 billion.
