June 30 starting at 5:30 p.m. at the Frisco Depot. The Choctaw Co. GOP will be meeting to discuss the primary results and plan for general campaign events. They would also like to start the process of establishing a school board committee that will work toward increasing community and most importantly, parental involvement with the school board so that the board members can better represent the people who elected them. Refreshments will be provided.

Oklahoma man pleads guilty, agrees to pay $57,000 restitution

• Robert Ray Snow signed a guilty plea to multiple cattle thefts dating back to 2015 On June 16, Robert Ray Snow, age 49, pleaded guilty to one count of third-degree felony theft of livestock in Wood County. Snow, a resident of Garvin, Okla., signed a guilty plea for five years deferred adjudication probation, payment of court costs and $57,983.74 in restitution to Winnsboro Livestock & Dairy Auction.

OSBI makes arrest in 30-year-old ‘baby doe’ case

The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI) is announcing the arrest of Meaonia Michelle Allen in connection with the death of Baby Doe in 1993. Allen, 53, turned herself in to an OSBI Special Agent in Hugo, Okla., Friday for an outstanding warrant for one count of murder in the first degree – deliberate intent. Bond was denied.

Hugo business leader gives grant to Boys & Girls Club

Local State Farm agent, Kevin Cory (Hugo) has a long history of demonstrating what it means to be a Good Neighbor by stepping up to help his community. On June 21, 2022 Cory presented the Boys and Girls Club with a $10,000 grant from State Farm as part of our Outstanding Community Engagement Program.

OMRF study finds new clues to diagnose MS relapse

New findings from the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation may give doctors more certainty when diagnosing multiple sclerosis relapse in patients. Someday, said OMRF scientist Bob Axtell, Ph.D., who led the study, the results could help detect a relapse sooner or perhaps even prevent it.
