An Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation physical therapist has developed a new treatment regimen for multiple sclerosis that appears to enhance mobility without causing fatigue. “The results need to be confirmed in a larger study, but they suggest possible improvement upon current intervention methods,” said Bobbette Miller, who treats patients at OMRF’s Multiple Sclerosis Center of Excellence and the University of Oklahoma Medical Center.

National Land and Range Judging contest to be held May 5

The 69th National Land and Range Judging Contest that will attract students from across the nation to the Oklahoma City area on May 5, 2022 is back. After a two-year layoff because of the pandemic, the national competition is back. For the 2019 competition, students –– as well as their coaches and sponsors –– traveled from more than 30 states to Oklahoma for the prestigious event. The interview opportunities with students and leaders are great and the visuals are outstanding as students not only study the surface, but also go down into trenches that are about 4 feet deep.

Trail of Tears memorial walk coming April 30

TVSHKA HOMMA, Okla. –– The Trail of Tears Memorial Walk will return to Tvshka Homma in 2022. Members of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma (CNO) and all others wanting to honor and remember those tribal ancestors who made the original Trail of Tears journey in the 1830s are invited to join in. Gates will open on the Living Village of the historic capitol grounds at 9 a.m. Saturday, April 30.

HUGO –– On Saturday afternoon, a small crowd gathered on the side of Highway 271 for a ceremony dedicating a portion of the highway to a fallen Oklahoma Highway Patrol trooper. The section of the highway runs from the outer limits of Hugo to Grant, and it now bears the name Trooper J.C.
