HOLLY CREEK — The Hugo Junior Buffalo track team ran strong last week at the Holly Creek Tournament (March 23). According to Coach Tanner Trent, “Hugo had many athletes who placed in the meet” which was filled with competition from Southeast Oklahoma.

This national day of activism empowers people to stand up for tobacco-free environments and speak out against the harm caused by the tobacco industry.

The Oklahoma Tobacco Settlement Endowment Trust (TSET) launched a new group vaping cessation intervention this month for teens and young adults. Quit the Hit is a free, web-based program designed to reduce youth e-cigarette use, combat the impact of nicotine addiction and help Oklahoma kids live longer, healthier lives.

The Oklahoma House of Representatives unanimously approved a resolution declaring last Thursday, March 24, 2022, as Oklahoma Agriculture Day. House Resolution 1046 was authored by House Agriculture and Rural Development Committee Chair Rep.

The Iris Garden Club of Hugo held its annual open meeting on Feb. 28 at ACE Hardware.

Funeral services for Wilbur Dean Gage, of Hugo, Okla., will be held at 1 p.m. April 2, 2022 at South Central District Building.

The North Star Texas Coin Club will present a coin show from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, April 2 at the Lamar Avenue Church of Christ, 3535 Lamar Ave. Free appraisals will be offered. Admission and parking are also free, and security will be provided. Several vendors will be on hand showcasing U.S., world and ancient coins as well as paper money, tokens, medals and collectibles.
