Before Oklahomans turn on the oven, sneak a bite of raw cookie dough or leave a purse within reach of children or pets, the center is reminding families that Thanksgiving can lead to more than a full table.

Trump administration delivers second stage of crop disaster assistance for farmers

Three days after the government reopened and despite the radical left Democrat caused shutdown, President Donald J. Trump and U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Brooke L. Rollins continue to put Farmers First, including the unprecedented move to reopen more than 2,000 county FSA offices in the middle of the government shutdown so farmers could continue to access U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) services during harvest. Today, the USDA will continue to support farmers and will release billions in disaster assistance for those recovering from natural disasters across the country.

Local school board positions up for election

The board of education of Hugo Public School District, Soper Public School District and Boswell Public School District announces that the annual school board election filing period for candidates will open Monday, Dec. 1 at 8 a.m. and will end at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 3 at the Choctaw County Election Board office. Hugo Board position No. 1 with a five-year term; Boswell Board position No. 1 and Soper Board position No. 1 are up for election.
