Tamara Leighann (Higgins) Stevens & Kayden Stevens Tamara Leighann (Higgins) Stevens was born on June 19, 1987 in Sherman, Texas. Tamara met Richard Stevens in Atoka, Okla., in December 2013 and together they raised their two wonderful boys.

James Lester Neeland, 80, passed away Jan., 30, 2025. He was born July 30, 1944, in Los Angeles, Calif., to Lester and Theda Neeland. He was raised in Kingfisher, Okla., and graduated from Big Four High School. He served in the National Guard before graduating from Central State College in Edmond, Okla. He married Linda VanHorn and they had two daughters: Lisa and Jennifer. In 1993, he married Jo L. Mabry in Hugo, Okla. This marriage blessed him with a bonus daughter, Donna. He has five grandchildren: Allison, Rachel, James, Matthew and AJ and one great-grandchild, Charlotte.

Joyce Ann Butler, a cherished mother, grandmother, sister and friend, passed away peacefully on Jan. 14, 2025 in Durant, Okla., at the age of 87. Born on March 31, 1937 in Antlers, Okla., Joyce lived a life characterized by her passion, love and kindness to all who knew her.

Jack Wayne Chambless, a resident of Park Hill for the past 30 years, died on Jan. 15, 2025.

Nancy Brandon, of Fort Towson, Okla., was born Feb. 15, 1943 and passed away peacefully from this world on Jan. 5, 2025, at the age of 81. Nancy leaves behind the great love of her life, her husband, Jimmy Brandon, whom she married on Aug. 7, 1961. Together, they embarked on a life filled with mutual respect and unwavering support, a partnership that lasted 63 years.

John L. Gibson, known affectionately as John to his friends and family, passed away peacefully of natural causes on Jan. 18, 2025 in Cleburne, Texas. Born on Sept. 10, 1934 in Fort Towson, Okla., John’s life was marked by his selfless nature and thoughtful spirit, qualities that endeared him to all who knew him.

Daniel Birdwell was born on March 2, 1959 in Ft. Worth, Texas, and passed away on Jan. 13, 2025 in Hugo, Okla. Daniel is survived by his beloved daughter, Felisha Birdwell; his brother, David Birdwell, and his sisters: Judy Rolfing, Rebecca Birdwell and Jean McIntosh. He is preceded in death by his son, Christopher Birdwell; brother, Billy Birdwell, and his parents: Billy Jack Birdwell and Dolores LaFon.
