Kiamichi Tech recognizes Practical Nursing graduates

ANTLERS –– Seven Practical Nursing students graduated from Kiamichi Tech - Antlers on Thursday, May 7, 2026. According to the program director, Shelly Swalley, Practical Nursing graduates complete 1,508 hours of class time and clinical hours in 18 months and must pass a rigorous exam in order to graduate.

Annual quilt show to be held May 8-9

The sixth annual “Eiffel in Love with Quilts” Quilt Show is this weekend in Paris, Texas, at the Love Civic Center. Held by the Red River Valley Quilt Guild, the show will open Friday May 8 at 9 a.m.

Choctaw Travel Plaza launches scholarship fund for tribal members

• Each purchase of collectible cup goes toward scholarships Choctaw Travel Plazas has launched its first ever scholarship fund, which will allow community members to donate toward local tribal member scholarships by purchasing a commemorative 32-ounce cup at any Travel Plaza across the reservation. Choctaw Travel Plazas partnered with Coca-Cola to seed the fund, which will help send local students to college or trade school.
