OMRF secures $3 million to study meth addiction

The Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation has received a $3 million federal grant to investigate how methamphetamine triggers a vicious cycle of addiction in the brain. By the end of the five-year National Institutes of Health grant, OMRF’s Mike Beckstead, Ph.D., hopes to make discoveries about addiction that will apply not just to meth but also to other drugs.

Hugo banker graduates from OBA Commercial Lending School

Brandon Mize, with FirstBank, in Hugo recently completed the Oklahoma Bankers Association Commercial Lending School in Oklahoma City. Mize was among 68 graduates of the school, which was held March 1-6 at the OBA Harris Event Center in Oklahoma City.
