Record intern class completes summer of research at OMRF

MCALESTER –– Recently, the Choctaw Nation Clinic in McAlester, Okla. celebrated its 15th year anniversary with a small ceremony including associates, Choctaw Nation Health leaders and Tribal Council Member Robert Karr. The McAlester Clinic, built in 2007, has the third largest patient base, seeing more than 1,000 patients each month. Several associates have been with the clinic since it’s opening.

The Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation hosted a record intern class this summer as students conducted wide-ranging experiments while working alongside some of the top minds in science. Twelve students formed the 66th class of the Fleming Scholars Program.

OKLAHOMA — The new 988 Mental Health Lifeline is now available across the state of Oklahoma. The three-digit number offers immediate response during mental health crises by a local trained behavioral health specialist. Any person can call or text 988 if experiencing a mental health emergency, seeking guidance for a mental health situation or looking to gain insight on how to navigate concerns for a friend or loved one.

‘CEO breakfast’ brings together community leaders

A week and a half ago, Kiamichi Technology Center hosted its first “CEO Breakfast,” which brought together community leaders to discuss the needs of Hugo. Hugo campus director Jerrod Lundry and workforce and economic development coordinator Lauren Wren led the session.
