Shull-Bywaters Park gets new lights!

Body
HUGO’S SHULL-BYWATERS PARK, that has hosted thousands of baseball events in Hugo for more than a half-century, was given a complete lighting upgrade this past week through an improvement project by the Hugo City Schools. According to Supt. of Schools, Dr. Earl Dalke, the new lights were built by Musco Lighting of Oklahoma City at a cost of $150,000 and erected and wired by Electrical Express at a cost of $85,000. The high-tech LED lights were tested Monday night and were said to be “outstanding,” paving the way for many well-lit night ball games for decades into the future. The project also included new outfield and perimeter fencing. Presently, the Hugo Independent School District has a 99-year lease with the City of Hugo under which it manages and maintains the Shull-Bywaters Park. Hugo News Photos / Stan Stamper
