Soper’s Lady Bears put up a good early season win last week with a 28-21 decision over the Lady Bulldogs of Clayton. Soper opened the game with a 9-6 first quarter advantage, but booked only one shot from the field in the second quarter on a deuce by Finity Funderburk, to go along with two charity throws by Chloeaunna Madbull.

When Idabel stepped onto the field to start the second half of Friday night’s game against Hugo, it was a pivotal moment. After going up 12-0 early in the second quarter, the Buffaloes couldn’t hold the Warriors off.

Buffaloes manhandle Valliant, 47-21

VALLIANT — Hugo earned its first home win of the season Thursday night, beating Valliant 47-21 on homecoming. Even though the Bulldogs were one of the easier games left on Hugo’s schedule, the win was important for a few reasons.

Buffaloes manhandle Diggers, 37-16

WILBURTON — In a wild game that included questionable penalties and a good deal of animosity, Hugo put up a season-high 37 points to beat Wilburton last Friday night. Hugo’s offense was led by their stable of running backs, who accounted for 256 rushing yards and four touchdowns against the Diggers.
