Kathryn Swink, a beloved educator, devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend, passed away peacefully on May 4, 2024, in Durant, Okla., surrounded by her family, at the age of 93. Born on June 18, 1930 in Turkey, Texas, to parents James Elbert Loar and Mary Lee Gilland Loar, Kathryn was a shining example of dedication, compassion and lifelong learning.

Polly Gowen, of Soper, Okla., went to be with her Lord peacefully on April 15, 2024, in Hugo, Okla., at the age of 85. She was born on Sept. 14, 1938 in Soper, Okla. Polly was preceded in Heaven by her parents, Euell and Grace Self; brother, Bob Self; son, David Colwell and a granddaughter.

Michael Brian Davis was born on June 10, 2000 in Austin, Texas. He tragically passed away at the young age of 23 on April 4, 2024 in Antlers, Okla., alongside his father, Brian Davis. Michael was a cherished son, brother, and friend who lived a life marked by curiosity and kindness. Michael brought light and understanding into the lives of many through his work at Brighter Days Wellness and Behavior Analysis, where his role as a Behavior Technician and Scribe allowed him to help those around him. His passion for traveling, cooking, and his dedication to the study of Asian cultures, linguistics and geography reflected the depth and diversity of his interests. He will be remembered for his kind heart, his eagerness to learn, and his ability to push beyond his comfort zone.
