The Hugo Fire Department will begin flushing fire hydrants on Monday, March 25 and continue until all hydrants have been checked. The Iris Garden Club Open Meeting will be held at 6 p.m.

OKLAHOMA CITY – Speaker Charles McCall, R-Atoka, this week gained House passage of multiple bills he authored regarding Oklahoma’s tax structure and policy. The bills were in addition to tax policy legislation passed by the House earlier this session.

Washington, D.C. – Congressman Josh Brecheen announced the following in-person town halls in far southeast Oklahoma for the month of April. Constituents are invited to attend and share their thoughts and ask questions on policy issues impacting Washington, D.C. and Oklahoma.

I’ve come to the conclusion that there’s a lot more “madness” going on in our nation and in the world... than just “March Madness.” It’s like going to watch a fight at Madison Square Garden, and a Congressional hearing breaks out.

Hugo News Sports The Buffaloes split home games against McAlester and Soper, falling 9-0 to the Buffaloes before beating the Red Bears 11-0 last week. Hugo got out to a slow start against McAlester, recording a few errors in the infield and outfield that would allow McAlester to take a large lead.

Memorial services for Gerald Lloyd Sheaffer were held Saturday, March 16. He passed away on March 12, 2024, in Oklahoma City, Okla., at the age of 74.
