Hugo School libraries receive grant from Carolyn Watson Community Foundation

Hugo Public School Libraries announces it has received a $2,000 Classroom Enhancement grant from the Carolyn Watson Rural Oklahoma Community Foundation administered by the Oklahoma City Community Foundation. The grant will be used to support the Library Legends program, which will allow the Hugo Public School Libraries to provide educational opportunities that expand its students’ horizons.

Choctaw Nation holds roundtables with local law enforcement

• To connect with law enforcement partners across the reservation DURANT –– The Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma (CNO) Office of the Tribal Prosecutors concluded its most recent series of law enforcement roundtables between tribal, local, and state law enforcement agencies and prosecutors. Four meetings were held across the reservation, with more than 77 attendees representing more than 30 law enforcement agencies.

Providing a lifeline for Oklahoma farmers: Reducing financial barriers to secure agricultural growth

The Oklahoma State Treasurer’s Office is excited to announce the relaunch of the Agricultural Linked Deposit Program. This program offers low-interest loans to farmers, ranchers, and agricultural businesses, helping them reduce financial strain, expand operations, and invest in their future. Through partnerships with local community and agricultural banks, the program ensures that vital funding reaches producers where it’s needed most. Ranchers and farmers can use the loans for operational expenses, refinancing, or expanding into alternative agricultural products. “This program is a lifeline for Oklahoma’s agricultural producers, launched out of the State Treasurer’s Office, enabling them to thrive despite economic challenges,” said Treasurer Russ. “It’s a win-win for our farmers and the financial institutions that support them.”

RBDG grant applications now being accepted by USDA

U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Development Oklahoma State Director, Kenneth Corn announced that the Oklahoma State Office is now accepting Rural Business Development Grant (RBDG) Applications. An RBDG is a competitive grant, which is designed to aid small and emerging private businesses in rural Oklahoma. Applicants must submit their grant package to the Oklahoma State Office no later than Feb. 28, 2025, by 4:30 p.m.
