Easton Gregg sets personal record at Las Vegas shoot

Easton Gregg competed in the Vegas Shoot 2025 on March 5-9. He shot his first 300, which is a perfect score for indoor archery. There were more than 4,000 competitors from more than 70 countries. While there, he officially signed with Lindenwood University’s archery team in St. Charles, Mo., where he will be a freshman in August. Easton is the son of Melissa Gregg and Tim Gregg and currently a senior at Rattan High School.

Oklahoma’s Judicial Nominating Commission announced the selection of Donna Lynn Dirickson, Travis Verl Jett and Jon Keith Parsley as the three candidates to send to Governor Kevin Stitt for appointment to the Supreme Court. After Justice Yvonne Kauger lost her retention election last year, 14 applicants filed with the commission to fill the vacancy. Stitt must select a nominee to be sworn onto the court within 60 days. Among the 10 candidates eliminated were a former state representative, five judges and a former Oklahoma solicitor general.

Funeral services for James Edward Floyd, of Hugo, Okla., were held at 2 p.m. March 13, 2025 at Shoals Cemetery. James passed away March 7, 2025, at the age of 86. James “Ed” Edward Floyd was born on March 16, 1938 in Boswell, Okla., the son of Aaron James Floyd and Ethel Mae (Maxwell) Floyd. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Charles Floyd.
