Fort Towson’s Big Trash Cleanup

The RGLA Trash Pickup Day was held in Fort Towson on April 1. It was a very successful event with several community residents participating. The Morynne Motley Estate and ReCreate Fort Towson Foundation sponsored the event by providing four roll off dumpsters to the town to assist residents with trash disposal and cleaning up their properties. Fort Towson ISD school students also assisted with the cleanup to earn community service hours.

• Gene Blackwell’s work featured at Choctaw Cultural Center starting April 29 Choctaw citizen and wildlife photographer Gene Blackwell will debut his latest exhibition at the Choctaw Cultural Center this spring. The exhibition titled, Kowi Haiaka Ikwehpowo (Unspoiled Wilderness): Photography from the Round Bottom Ranch, opens Tuesday, April 29 and highlights the natural beauty of Choctaw Country through Blackwell’s lens.

REAL ID compliance increases as federal deadline nears

With less than a month remaining until the May 7, 2025 federal REAL ID deadline, Service Oklahoma has issued more than 2.1 million REAL ID-compliant credentials statewide. A REAL ID is not required to drive or for in-state identification but may be needed to board domestic flights or enter certain federal buildings starting May 7.
