The National Survey on Drug Use and Health indicates that about one in five Oklahomans aged 12 and older participated in binge alcohol use in the past month and one in 10 are estimated to have had an alcohol use disorder within the past year. Excessive alcohol consumption is a leading cause of preventable deaths, injuries, and illnesses, such as liver disease, high blood pressure, and certain types of cancer.
