Stetsynn James Franks is the Hugo News First Baby of the Year for 2026! Stetsynn was born at 3:09 a.m. Jan. 16, 2026 to Jaylee Lynn Baker and Shelby James Franks at Alliance Health. He weighed six pounds, 11.7 ounces and was 19.5 inches long. Stetsynn is the brother of Westynn Franks, and the grandson of Heather and Ronald Baker and Felicia and John Franks. His great-grandparents include Louise and Gary Mueller and Vickie and Ronald Franks.

Little River Chapter DAR As we prepare to celebrate the 250th anniversary of our country in July, the Little River Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution and Fort Towson VFW and Auxiliary would like to remind you why we Americans observe President’s Day each year on the third Monday of February. It is often celebrated to honor all those who served as the nation’s presidents and, since 1879, has been the Federal Holiday honoring the founding father, George Washington, who led the Continental Army to victory in the American Revolutionary War.
