A ribbon cutting was held Friday afternoon in Hugo, where the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma opened five Independent Elder Homes and 23 Affordable Rental Homes, with an additional 20 LEAP homes approved for construction in District 8. District 8 now has a total of 108 completed homes. Across the reservation, that brings the Nation to 1,720 completed homes, with another 344 approved for construction. IDABEL — The Lady Buffs scored their first win of the season last week at Idabel, beating the Warriors 45-39 in a hard-fought game that showcased Hugo’s improvement. “I was so proud of them, and they were so proud of themselves,” said coach La’Sha Cook.
