Missing Hugo man’s remains identified 12 years after he disappeared

HUGO –– The remains of John Lafayette Mangrum have been positively identified after he went missing from Hugo, Okla., in March 2008. The remains were discovered in August 2018 in a remote area in northern Pushmataha County. At that time the Pushmataha County Sheriff’s Office requested assistance from the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI) in identifying the remains.

GENE NESBIT STADIUM — After making history playing host in the State football playoffs for the second year in a row, the Hugo Buffaloes came out smokin’ in the first half against the Keys Cougars Friday in Hugo, taking a commanding early lead in the game, going up 20-0 in the first quarter alone.

ZAN COOK turns the corner and looks for running room for the Hugo Buffalo offense in the first round of the State Playoffs in Hugo Friday against the Keys Cougars. Cook finished the game with 49 yards on 11 carries.
